1168455738">Maribeth is the current Rector (Chairman) of the Board of Visitors for James Madison University (JMU) and is in her seventh year serving on the Board.  As Rector, she leads the Executive Committee and works closely with the university President to advance the strategic goals of the institution.  She has also served as Chairman of the Finance Committee and as a member of the Development, Governance, Student and Academic Affairs, and Athletic committees.   

 

In May of 2022, Maribeth retired as the Strategic Risk Executive for Bank of America.  In this capacity, Maribeth was responsible for the banks strategic risk program design, process definition, implementation, and execution of the bank’s strategic risk program.  This initiative delivered a holistic strategic risk profile for the bank and was ultimately viewed as a best-in-class solution. During her ten years with the bank, Maribeth managed compliance and operational risk for Enterprise Fraud, Enterprise Bankruptcy, Enterprise Flood, as well as Consumer Servicing.  She also aided in the design and implementation of the Enterprise Quality Assurance program, remediating components of the Mortgage Consent Order.  

 

Throughout her career, Maribeth has been recognized as a strategic thinker who creates value by solving large, complex enterprise problems through process and control design as well as leveraging technology.  She is an expert at identifying connections between economic and financial risks and business goals and outcomes.  She is a proven leader, a relationship builder, and mentor who possesses exceptional business acumen and sound professional judgement.
